German car manufacturer Opel has entered Ecuador with agencies in Quito and Guayaquil.

Ecuador forms part of Opel's expansion plan in Latin America. In Ecuador, Opel is represented by Nexumcorp, a company that also represents Peugeot and Changan. The company has made an initial investment of around $ 3 million to start the commercialization of Opel vehicles.

Opel plans to have six agencies in Ecuador by 2023. For his year, Opel hopes to sell 500 units in Ecuador. The five-year goal is to sell 3,000 vehicles per year and to be among the five European brands with the highest sales volume.

Opel enters the Ecuadorian market with five models: Corsa, Crossland (SUV), Grandland X (SUV), Opel Combo (van), and Opel VĂvaro (van). Prices range from $ 19,990 to $ 38,490.

Opel hopes to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the trade agreement between the European Union and Ecuador.

Along with the introduction in Ecuador, Opel began to operate in Colombia and Uruguay in the first half of 2021.
