Promart Homecenter expands in Ecuador with a new store in Quito

Promart Homecenter, a Peruvian retail company, opened its first Ecuadorian store in Guayaquil in 2022. On December 11, 2024, it celebrated the opening of its second location in Quito, backed by an estimated investment of $32 million.

The newly launched store spans 7,500 square meters, featuring high shelves stocked with 17 product categories. These include items for building, remodeling, and decorating homes, showcasing a mix of commercial and in-house brands.

Among its proprietary brands are Orange, offering flooring, bathroom fixtures, kitchen products, terrace furniture, and decorative items, and Weken, specializing in door locks. While some of these products are imported from Peru, others are locally manufactured in Ecuador.

Promart Homecenter is part of Intercorp Retail and views Ecuador as a market brimming with potential. The company plans to open two additional stores in Quito by the end of 2025, bringing its total investment in the country to $70 million.

“Our Promart stores are unique and innovative spaces. We are introducing a completely new and unprecedented format to a growing $3.5 billion market, focusing on everything outside a home’s infrastructure,” emphasized Jorge Sans, CEO of Promart Homecenter Ecuador.
