Pending national guidelines delay regulation of informal tourist accommodations in Cuenca

Efforts to regulate informal tourist accommodations in Cuenca are currently on hold. Lorena Guillén, director of the Cuenca Tourism Foundation, explained that national guidelines must first be issued by the Ministry before local enforcement can begin. After discussions with the zonal tourism coordinator, Guillén anticipates that the required information will be available soon, allowing for the initiation of controls.
