You can use urban buses to travel within the urban area of La Libertad, Santa Elena, Ballenita, and Salinas. The price for a single ride is $.036, which you can pay when you enter your bus. Some expats avoid traveling by urban buses because there are reports of bus robberies.
Taxi
It's safe to use the official yellow taxis. They don't use meters. It's best to negotiate a price before you enter a taxi.
