Playa El Murciélago

Playa El Murciélago is Manta's most popular beach and attracts many tourists throughout the year. Its name means "The Bat" because it looks like a bat with its wings spread. The beach is about 1700 meters long and has fine sand with a greenish-grey color. It also has some algae and rocks along its surface. The beach is usually calm and safe for swimming, but sometimes there are strong currents that require caution. The beach also offers many water sports such as surfing, kite-surfing, diving, sailing and fishing. You can rent equipment on site or watch the surfers and kite-surfers perform amazing tricks.
