Cuenca enjoys a mild climate. Cuenca is located at an altitude of 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) above sea level, which means it has less humidity and more sunshine than the coastal areas of Ecuador. Cuenca has two main seasons: a wet season from October to May, and a dry season from June to September.
Wet season (October - May)
In the wet season, the average maximum temperature is about 15,5°C (60°F). March has the highest average temperature with 17,2°C (63°F). The evenings are chilly with about 12°C (53.6°F). The early mornings are cold with average minimum temperatures of 10°C (50°F). Rainfall is moderate in the wet season.
Dry season (June - September)
The dry season is characterized by cool weather. The coolest month is July with 11,6°C (53°F) as average high temperature. The early mornings and evenings are also colder than in the wet season. It's usually about 14°C (57.2°F) early in the evening. Early in the morning, the average temperature is 6,6°C (44°F). The dry season is less cloudy than the wet season, but rainfall is possible.
