The city has two rainy seasons, from March to May and from September to November, with the heaviest rainfall usually occurring in April and May. The rest of the year tends to be drier, with occasional rain showers. Due to its location in the mountains, the weather in Medellin can be unpredictable and can change quickly, so visitors are advised to bring layers of clothing and rain gear, especially during the rainy seasons.
